Ever alluring and as glamorous as the iconic style itself, The Vactionist Collection from Kiargo is intuitively inspired by the architectural and decorative design style of 60's Hollywood Regency - with a dash of nautical jet-set.
The overall look of Hollywood Regency is built around a clean palette that fuses classic black and white with burst of colour, and this is reflective the the range. Combining this with the notion of vacationing, it's about taking to the seas or hotel pool in pieces that allow curves and fuller bust to re-invent glamour as the norm - fast becoming the signature Kiargo style.
Classic stripes lead the collection through a core range of black and white with a punch of ruby red in the Mansfield and Liberty stories. Geomety is cleverly used to sculpt the form with the Viceroy pieces which also work back with black. A navy coloured story offers a nautical edge with a neat selection of styles on offer.
Kiargo pieces are available with sizes ranging from 8 through to 14 in select styles. This season see the introduction of an F - G cup option and a continued tailored approach to bust support for every size.
Kiargo is constructed from Revolutional® Nylon Elastane. It is as its name suggests, a breakthrough in fabric technology. An Italian 71% Micro Nylon and 29% Elastane with Xtra-Life Lycra®, the fabric is ultra light and fine (155gsm) but still with excellent coverage. With equal stretch both lengthwise and widthwise, Revolutional® moulds to the body offering superior comfort and freedom of movement. Its papery handle is quick drying and the structure of the fabric combined with Xtra-Life Lycra® offers excellent chlorine resistance compared to standard Nylon Lycra with greater resistance to piling and sand infiltration. Revolutional® has 50+ sun protection. We recommend a gentle hand wash with a mild detergent and advise to remove delicate trims before washing to properly maintain the longevity of Kiargo pieces.

Do you love ruffled swimsuits? Ruffles are so hot this season, they are feminine, flirty and oh so girly. Our favorite ruffled swimsuit this season has to be the Cruise Triangle Bikini from the 2012 Paradizia Siren in Love Collection!
The Cruise Triangle Bikini features contrasting nautical, floral and African animal inspired prints with a vintage floral ruffle on the bikini top. The vintage floral print ruffle is featured on the 'v' shaped neckline and is followed down the strap.
The bikini bottoms feature a small, pink vintage floral printed hoop detail at the front. The bottoms feature nautical and African animal prints at the front, while the back has a contrasting vintage blue floral print.

As much as we adore our new summer bikinis we all need a little coverage from the sun, so when we saw Paradizia's 2012 Siren in Love Collection, we knew the Aqualina Cover-up would be the prefect option for keeping you out of the sun!

2012 Kooey Swimwear Desert Collection
The 2012 Kooey Swimwear Desert Collection has just arrived at Zakoda.com.
High waisted bikinis are back this summer with the Kooey Desert Cloud (far left below) and the Kooey Desert Sunset (far right below) being the first 2012 release of this vintage style. Kooey has also introduced a new Tankini style swimsuit Kooey Desert Haze (2nd from right below) with padded bra cups for those wanting a little more coverage.
Crochet Swimwear is back better than ever
This season we have seen a lot of swimwear designers bringing crochet detailing back into fashion. Now we know that crochet swimsuits may make you think of your grandma, but crochet swimsuits are really very feminine.
Brand such as Paradizia Swimwear tend to use crochet detailing in sections or splices for example the Paradizia Postal Triangle Bikini has extensive crochet detailing in the back area. Paradizia Swimwear often highlight the crocheted area with some beading resulting in a fabulous designer swimsuit that is sure to make heads turn down at the beach. Paradizia Swimwear is leading the way in this area this season with their Wildlife Bandeau Bikini and as mentioned earlier Postal Triangle Bikini.

2011 Maaji Swimwear a cut above the rest
This season we are seeing a lot of designer swimwear brands utilise laser cutting technology which is a cut above the rest (excuse the pun). Laser cutting technology accurately and quickly cuts intricate designs and artwork into the swimwear fabric producing crisp, clean and sealed edges to prevent fraying.
While laser cutting is not a new technique it seems that designer swimwear brands have re-ignited the trend using it to add detail and difference to their collections.
We have seen a lot of laser cut swimsuits in the 2011 Maaji Swimwear Collection Flying Tales.
The Pixel Storm bandeau bikini features a lot of laser cutting on the bandeau bikini top. The bright orange pyramid shapes have been laser cut and are used in layers to create depth to the bandeau bikini.
Similarly, the Maaji Swimwear Geometric Wonder used laser cut pyramids on the halterneck bikini top to add texture.
The same laser cut pyramids are used to highlight the contrasting prints on the Delicate Jeopardy halterneck bikini. In this instance, it is not used as the main feature but rather to highlight the differences in the prints on the bikini.
Laser cutting is also not only used to cut intricate shapes, it can also be used to make interesting trim detailing. For example Maaji swimsuits such as the Flight of Fancy halterneck bikini, the Violet Propulsion bandeau bikini and the Mighty Wings triangle bikini have a laser cut ruffled trim.
Marcela Maciel Swimwear
We recently attended a fashion show in Paris and were lucky enough to stumble across the gorgeous Brazilian Swimwear collection Marcela Maciel.
After taking a look at the bikinis we decided that Marcela Maciel had to be made available to women in Australia. So here we are several months later with a beautiful collection of designer swimsuits that are rich in detail with hand beading, unique mixtures of fabrics, textures and prints.
The designer Marcela knows quite a bit about swimwear design, having graduated from university in 2006 with a degree in Fashion Design. After winning an award for her designs, Marcela was invited to show her collection in Panama. Her swimsuit designs were a huge success and with that Marcela decided to launch her swimwear collection Marcela Maciel Beachwear a year later in 2007.
The Marcela Maciel Collection is a newcomer to the international swimwear world, however Marcela’s passion for design and her creativity has now placed the brand alongside leading swimwear brands such as Maaji Swimwear.
The 2011 Marcela Maciel Collection is influenced by romanticism, delicacy and a touch of sensuality which is evident in the Giselli Bikini. Marcela’s main objective in designing two piece swimsuits is to highlight the femininity and beauty of women. She is inspired by images, colours, textures and details. She has a love of theatre and movies and often uses the costumes as sources of inspiration for her swimsuit designs. Drawing inspiration from the past is also evident in her swimwear designs, always romantic, sensual and womanly.
Marcela has designed a number of different swimsuit styles suited to different body types. The Alegria Bikini and Giselli Bikini for example offer support in the bust while the Alegria also provides more coverage at the rear. The Dionisa Bikini and Benita Bikini are very feminine and flattering triangle bikinis both with a ruffled frill around the waistline and hips. For a skimpier fit, Marcela has created the Isadora Bikini and Jacari Bikini both brazillian bikinis with a slightly frilled trim and tie up sides on the bikini pants. However, her most unique style and one that we are sure will be a winner is the Mirelli Bikini which features a scooped neckline with cross over back straps.
